Welcome to the Moffat Vet Cup. We have word of a late scratching - "Surgical Steele" has realised that it has been over 11 years since she worked a Tuesday so she's not fit to race on this day. Last year's favourite "Mad Dash Tash" has been in training for the Currimundi Classic and her trainers just couldn't commit to both races this year.....The horses are lining up at the gates, yes, and they're off! "Alex the Great" and "Get Jiggy with it Jo" are first into the clinic and the float is being counted and the phones switched over. "That Ship has Sailed" is farily flying as she makes her way down to the surgical suite and she's closely followed by "Get Jiggy with it Jo". "Duchess Camilla" now joins "Alex the Great" in the reception area but the phone head set is holding her back. She's lagging behind "Alex the Great" who is now moving through to the grooming area. She's closely followed by "Lily Toxicity" and they're grooming and bathing and blowdrying. Meanwhile "King Hit" is slow and steady in the consultation room but we all know this is a distance race and this horse likes to come from behind. Oh NO! Oh NO! "That Ship has Sailed" is pulling out - yes, it's cramps from too much personal training work. "Duchess Camilla" has gone for lunch and hasn't returned. "Alex the Great" and "Lily Toxicity" are cleaning up and going out the door. "Get Jiggy with it Jo" has left to pick up the kids. That leaves "King Hit" the only one still here by 6 o'clock close. Yes, she drew the work sweep stakes earlier in the week and has "miraculously" won again! Oh, and good luck if you are having a tipple on the real Melbourne Cup!
