Annual Christmas Charity Drive

As many of our Moffat Beach Vet family know, every year we hold a Christmas appeal in order to bring a little bit of santa-goodness to those animals still looking for their furever homes. This year, donations will be given to the animal rescue group, Silver Lining. Much appreciated donations may consist of:
Toys
• Food
• Treats
• Newspaper and litter
• Food bowls
• Towels and blankets
• Washing liquid
• Leads and collars
• Jackets and coats for winter

You can make a difference to those pets who don’t have homes over Christmas. Drop off your donations to the clinic and we will pass them onto Silver LIning volunteers. With every donation we will add a tag to our Christmas Tree, to say thank you for your support!

Thinking of a puppy or kitten for Christmas?
Don't forget to bring your new pet in for a free Vet checkup within 7 days of purchase.
Book your puppy for puppy classes. Training your new addition will give them the very best start in life.

 Christmas Cat Chaos Factor!!

Cats are kittens are super cute and their antics around the christmas tree are hilarious - just check out the hundreds of you-tube videos to prove it! But many of us don't think about the common hazards that the christmas tree can hold for super curious kitties. Here are some of the top reasons why you should always supervise your fur baby around the christmas tree.
  1. Tinsel, string and ribbons are terribly tempting to play with but if they are swallowed, they cause immense damage to the intestines. Surgical removal is necessary and in some cases, parts of the bowel need to be removed too.

2. Coloured christmas lights look fantastic but cats have died from electrocution after chewing on the wires
3. Many people swear by having a real Christmas tree as it adds so much more atmosphere than artificial versions. BUT PINE NEEDLES ARE TOXIC TO CATS AND CAN PIERCE THE BOWEL IF INGESTED.

 Baby's cranky Christmas Blog:

Someone came in with a new Christmas perch for me and I hate it!! I won't sit on it even if my birdy Maccas treats are hung from it. It makes me so cranky I have been inspired to sing this song........

Deck the Halls with leaves of gum
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo, wah wah wah wah
Tis the season to be glum
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo, wah wah wah wah
Don we now, our garb of black
Boo hoo hoo, Boo hoo hoo, wah, wah, wah
Give old Sandy Claws the sack
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo, wah wah wah wah
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo, wah wah, wah, wah!!!!!

Editor's note:
This is the Christmas perch which was made with love and generously given to Baby as a Christmas gift. He sat on it today for a photo shoot and it didn't bite him after all....It is obvious that an opportunity to get in front of the camera is more important to him than being a cranky Christmas grinch.

Meowy Christmas wishes....
